The restoration of one of the most beautiful buildings in Sofia, which was previously used as the King's Palace and today houses the National Gallery, has already started.
We want to revive the brilliance of the building, said Arch. K. Peev, manager of EKSA LTD, which will complete the restoration of the building.
The Messerschmitt Foundation has donated 100,000 EURO for the renovation of the central facade. The Bulgarian Ministry of Culture has given 30,000 EURO.

THE MESSERSCHMITT FOUNDATION FINANCES THE RESTORATION OF SOFIA'S KING'S PALACE, newspaper Democracy, November.2001
Today at 11am, the architecture, construction and restoration company EKSA LTD will put a commemorative sign of the Messerschmitt Foundation, which financed the restoration of the King's Palace with 156, 000 BGLV, on the facade of the listed building. At a press-conference following the ceremony, the firm's professionals will discuss the status of the restoration works and the deadlines within which they will be completed.
Before two years the restoration team of EKSA LTD won an initial selection contest for the renovation of the original roof of the King's Palace, said Arch. Konstantin Peev for "Democracy". At the next contest for the north-east wing, the same company ranked first by the Ministry of Culture because of the completion of high-quality work within the set deadlines and financial offers at the first stage of the restoration.
